The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed significant problems in the way healthcare is perceived and experienced by disparate communities and individuals. This timely program will bring together experts in Medicine, Law and Public Health to explore the ethical, medical and social challenges associated with access to Covid-19 vaccines and treatments.
The panelists will address issues such as the social determinants that pre-date Covid but contribute to its disproportionate impacts, the moral distress of healthcare workers as a result of vaccine and treatment shortages, and the implications of vaccine skepticism in underserved communities.
Co-sponsored by
The Hofstra Master’s Degree Program in Bioethics and the Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy, with support from the Garfunkel Wild Thought Leadership in Action Speakers Series.
